  Life Coaching

Life coaches are volunteers from the community who assist our professional case managers.  As a life coach, you’ll work one on one with a man, mentoring him and supporting him in the transition from homelessness to an independent life. Research has shown that life coaching often makes all the difference in whether a man successfully makes the transition out of homelessness into permanent housing.

After 12 hours of training, you’ll be asked to commit to meeting with your client at least once a week for a year. You’ll receive ongoing training and be professionally supervised.

Life coaches:

  • Meet weekly with men to discuss issues in their lives

  • Help set goals related to work, finances, relationships, spiritual issues, health

  • Prepare for interviews, review resumes and encourage the job search

  • Assist them through the maze of public bureaucracy and help them receive services they qualify for (healthcare, work and legal assistance)

Time commitment: 2-3 hours per week (with coverage during vacations, trips, etc).

We have more men in need of a coach than we have coaches available. For the first time in a long timeperhaps evermany of these men in transition have someone who will listen to and invest time with them. We are willing to train others because we have witnessed that life coaching helps men change.

For more information contact Bruce Borremans at (425) 985-7233 or Paul Tomlinson (206) 295-1820.

There is no charge for the training.
